The Middle East is a region where vehicle is king and fuel is low-cost, often leaving little reward to discover more environmentally-friendly ways of moving around.

But this year, as protests across the Middle East have risen the price of oil, the problem of discovering alternative of fuel has actually entered sharp focus.

In a region that has one of the highest carbon footprints on the planet, one organization is benefiting from the growing pressure to find alternatives to oil. It's set up the Middle East's first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving rewarding too, already their client-list contains McDonald's.
