The Middle East is a region where vehicle is king and fuel is cheap, often leaving little reward to discover more environmentally-friendly methods of moving around.

But this year, as protests throughout the Middle East have risen the price of oil, the issue of discovering alternative sources of fuel has entered into sharp focus.

In a region that has among the greatest carbon footprints in the world, one service is from the growing pressure to discover options to oil. It's established the Middle East's very first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving rewarding too, already their client-list includes McDonald's.
