The Middle East is an area where is king and fuel is low-cost, typically leaving little reward to discover more environmentally-friendly ways of moving around.

But this year, as demonstrations across the Middle East have pressed up the price of oil, the issue of finding alternative sources of fuel has entered into sharp focus.

In a region that has among the highest carbon footprints worldwide, one company is taking advantage of the growing pressure to find options to oil. It's set up the Middle East's first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving successful too, already their client-list consists of McDonald's.
